Stop Losing Control
2 Timothy 1:7 – For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Proverbs 16:32 – Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.
Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Proverbs 25:28 – A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.
James 1:19-21 – My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
1 Corinthians 6:12-14 – You say, “I am allowed to do anything” – but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. You say, “Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.” (This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies. And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead.
2 Peter 1:5-9 – For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverence; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Titus 2: 11-12 – For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and wordly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
Proverbs 18:21 – The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 29:11 – Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
