Clean Gut – Days 3 & 4
So on day 3 I woke up feeling pretty good. I did not feel shaky or nauseous. I got up and made a vanilla almond shake. I did not have almond milk, I had coconut milk. It was an ok shake. I think that it would taste better with almond milk. I had a salad for lunch and eggplant with other vegetables for dinner. I took all of my supplements and drank a lot of water and herbal tea (decaf of course!!). All of this while being at an indoor soccer tournament all day.
I still had a huge craving for coffee. I kept trying to justify that I could have a decaf coffee with almond milk and sugar free flavoring. But I didn’t give in. I kept reminding myself that this program is only for 21 days. When you are pregnant you give up a lot of things for 9 months. So I can do this.
Last night I was still really hungry so I went online to find more recipes for the clean gut diet. Here are a few sites that I have found to be very useful:
I went grocery shopping today for new items, for some new recipes that I found. I feel excited trying new ideas. I am going to make carrot fries, chicken pot pie, chicken and waffles, chocolate cake, and a homemade guacamole that I just love. I made the guacamole for snack today with celery it was very delicious.
I also found a recipe to make homemade mayo. I am going to make mayo tomorrow and make a chicken salad sandwich. For the bread I am going to use big leaves of lettuce. Then I can add a lot of vegetables to my sandwich and have an amazing lunch.
I keep reminding myself that this is all new and is going to take sometime to get use to, but that I can do it.
